The half of Japanese you cannot practise by reading

Recognising a character is not the same as being able to form it, and understanding a sentence is not the same as being able to build one. This is where you produce, not receive.

Today's task · 4 November

Write about where you usually study on weekdays and where you studied last Sunday.

ふだん、へいじつはどこでべんきょうしますか。そして、このまえの日曜日はどこでべんきょうしましたか。書いてください。

Use this pattern

〜で(place of an action)

Use で after a place to say where an action happens. It works for both present and past polite sentences, so 図書館で勉強します and 図書館で勉強しました are both correct. Example: うちで本を読みます。

Use these words

  • べんきょう
  • へいじつ
  • 日曜日

Build a sentence from words you already know

Two words, drawn from your own vocabulary record — never a word you have not met, and never the same pair twice. Endless, and free.
