Expresses liking an activity or situation, equivalent to 'to like doing' in English.

Attach to the dictionary (plain non-past) form of a verb, or to the plain form of an adjective followed by の. For な-adjectives, use な before の. Note: This pattern does not normally apply to nouns.
This pattern turns an action into a noun phrase using の, then marks it with が and states that you like it with 好き. The の acts like a nominalizer, making the verb phrase the subject of your liking. For example, 食べるの (eating) becomes the thing you like: 食べるのが好き (I like eating). It works with verbs in their dictionary form, and also with adjectives: 静かなのが好き (I like quiet places).
