Formal or literary; used when a person of authority confers something or imparts knowledge, not for everyday giving.
先生は学生に知識を授ける。
Sensei wa gakusei ni chishiki o sazukeru.
The teacher imparts knowledge to the students.
国王は彼に称号を授ける。
Kokuō wa kare ni shōgō o sazukeru.
The king confers a title on him.
⚖️ Not to be confused with 与える (ataeru), which is more general and less formal for giving.
