Use this pattern

〜ました (past polite form)

Use 〜ました to talk about actions that are already finished, such as things you did yesterday or last weekend. The present form 〜ます changes to 〜ました for the past: いきます → いきました, かいます → かいました. Example: きのう ともだちと えいがを みました。
