Use this pattern
〜ました (past polite)
Use 〜ました to talk about things that already happened, like yesterday or last week. Example: きのう えいがを 見ました (Yesterday I watched a movie).

One way to write it
せんしゅう デパートへ 行きました。友だちと かばんを 買いました。
The verb 行きました comes at the end of the sentence, and へ marks the destination. The second sentence uses と to show who was with the speaker and を to mark what was bought.
