A learner who thinks an examiner can read every AI-tutor question stops asking honest questions. Nihoner’s Campus permission checks therefore limit a teacher to learners in classes they lead, and separate coursework signals from private study content.

Administrative Clarifications

Questions departments and procurement ask

Is the 12-week pilot free, and when is the $750 charged?
The pilot is not free. The university pays one $750 charge at checkout, and the 84-day access period begins when that payment succeeds. There is no recurring subscription and nothing renews automatically. If you purchase an annual Campus plan within 12 months, a private one-use credit removes the full $750 from that purchase.
What exactly is included, and what happens after 84 days?
The pilot includes one class, up to 40 students, complete Premium learning access for every active seat, unlimited faculty and administrators, assignments, communication and Campus reporting. At expiry, Campus management and institutional Premium access pause automatically. Accounts, XP and learning progress remain. Buying any annual Campus plan reactivates the organisation and unlocks unlimited classes immediately.
Do students or university IT staff need to install any software?
No. Nihoner runs in a modern web browser across laptops, tablets and phones. There is no desktop client, mobile-device profile or licence key to deploy.
How does student onboarding work on day one?
An administrator can approve the institution’s email domain so new accounts join automatically, paste email addresses in almost any shape, or upload CSV. Existing Nihoner accounts attach immediately; new learners receive a personal join link.
Do we need an LMS integration with Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle?
Nihoner has its own class and assignment layer, so an LMS integration is not required to run it. There is not currently a native LTI, Canvas, Blackboard or Moodle sync. Class and organisation data export as standard CSV for local reporting or import workflows.
What happens to student accounts when the academic year ends?
The account returns to the free tier. XP, streaks and learning history stay with the learner; nothing is deleted simply because the institution’s licence ends.
Can we pay via University Purchase Order (PO), Invoice, or Wire Transfer?
Card checkout is available. If your finance office requires an invoice and bank transfer, contact the Nihoner team before purchase so the billing route can be confirmed.
What if our enrollment exceeds our selected tier mid-year?
Existing enrolled learners continue to work. The administrator dashboard shows the band limit and stops new student seats from being added once it is reached, so the department can move bands deliberately instead of overselling a licence silently.
How does Nihoner support a FERPA or GDPR review?
Nihoner does not claim a blanket certification. Campus enforces role and class access in code, keeps private-study content out of staff reports, and publishes a DPA, retention policy and security statement for review. Your privacy or procurement team can send questions before purchase.
