Used in news and serious writing for exposing hidden wrongdoing or secrets; stronger and more dramatic than 明かす.
記者は汚職を暴いた。
Kisha wa oshoku o abaita.

Kare no kako o abakanaide.
Don't dig up his past.
⚖️ Often confused with 明かす, which merely reveals information and is neutral, while 暴く implies uncovering something hidden or scandalous.
