At Nihoner, we believe learning should be built on trust. We want you to know exactly how we work, what we stand for, and why our platform is a safe place to learn Japanese.
1. Clear Ownership & Accountability
- Nihoner is operated by Edgar Yepremyan, Warsaw, Poland.
- Our full legal contact details are published in our Imprint.
- All policies — from Privacy to Refunds — are openly available at the bottom of every page.
You always know who is behind the site.
2. Independent & Transparent Content
- We clearly separate Nihoner-owned content from licensed third-party content.
- Every dataset, API, and external contribution is credited on our Credits & Licenses page.
- Nothing is hidden: we show where data comes from and who owns it.
3. Data Protection & Security
- All passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text.
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe and PayPal — we never store card details.
- We use Cloudflare security, Solid Security Pro, and CleanTalk anti-spam to protect your data and account.
- See our Security Statement for full details.
Your personal information is treated with the highest care.
4. No Dark Patterns, No Tricks
- Prices are clear. No hidden fees.
- Refund and billing rules are openly written in our Refund Policy and Payment & Billing Policy.
- You can cancel your membership at any time — no tricks, no “locked” contracts.
5. Academic & Community Integrity
- We enforce Community Guidelines and remove plagiarism, harassment, or piracy.
- AI tools are clearly labeled and come with disclaimers. We never pretend AI is human.
- Certificates and badges are for motivation — we never mislead you into thinking they are government qualifications.
6. Continuous Responsibility
- We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy standards.
- We publish a Modern Slavery & Human Rights Statement and an Environmental & Sustainability Statement because responsibility matters.
- If laws change, our policies are updated quickly — you’ll always see a “Last Updated” date.
7. Your Voice Matters
- We welcome feedback, concerns, and even vulnerability reports (see our Responsible Disclosure Policy).
- If you think content has crossed a line, you can use our Reporting & Takedown Policy.
- Every report is reviewed — no exceptions.
8. Our Promise
Nihoner exists to make Japanese learning accessible, safe, and inspiring. We commit to honesty, transparency, and protecting your trust. Not because the law demands it — but because learners deserve nothing less.
