Nihoner
Public interest & partnerships

Build trust by making something useful in public.

Nihoner is setting aside a small group of free, source-linked resources for Japanese-language learning and Japan–Germany exchange. This page explains their status, boundaries and the kind of collaboration Nihoner is prepared to undertake.

Project register

What is live, what is a pilot, and what is only planned.

Status labels are deliberately conservative. A page being live does not mean an outside organization has reviewed or endorsed it.

Clear boundaries

Respect the difference between a source, a partner and an endorsement.

Public-sector trust depends on readers knowing who is responsible for each statement.

  • 源
    Source

Nihoner links to an official page and summarizes it cautiously. The source organization has not necessarily reviewed Nihoner.

  • 協
    Project collaborator

An organization has agreed in writing to a defined activity, role, timeframe and public description.

  • 支
    Supporter or sponsor

The exact form of support is disclosed. Financial or in-kind support does not automatically mean educational approval.

  • 認
    Endorsement

Nihoner will use this language only when the organization has expressly authorized it in writing.

Project commitments

A public-benefit page should not become a disguised sales funnel.

広

No advertising in the project

No affiliate promotions, scarcity messages or premium upgrade prompts inside the core public-interest content.

標

Purpose before metrics

Define the beneficiary and intended outcome before deciding what to measure.

少

Collect less data

Avoid collecting personal data when a task can work locally in the browser or anonymously.

可

Accessible route

Use semantic structure, keyboard support, readable contrast and alternatives for microphone-dependent activities.

日

Visible review dates

Time-sensitive information shows when Nihoner last checked it and directs readers to the current official notice.

訂

Correction over defensiveness

Material can be corrected or withdrawn quickly when a source changes or a partner identifies a problem.

Educational direction

Move from “what do you know?” toward “what can you do?”

For public-interest pathways, Nihoner is adopting task-based goals such as introducing yourself, asking for directions, explaining an opinion and reflecting on cultural differences.

Method in development

Informed by the JF Standard concept

The Japan Foundation’s JF Standard emphasizes practical Can-do outcomes and intercultural understanding. Nihoner may use that public framework as a reference when writing its own activities, while clearly avoiding any claim that Nihoner or its materials are JF-approved.

Impact reporting

Measure the service without turning people into marketing proof.

QuestionSuitable evidenceWhat it does not prove
Did people reach the resource?Aggregate visits and referral source, where consent and analytics settings permit. That they learned Japanese.
Did they use the activity?Optional completion event or anonymous task count. That the activity caused an examination result.
Was it understandable?Short voluntary feedback and accessibility reports. That every learner had the same experience.
Did confidence or task performance change?Pre/post self-assessment or a partner-agreed task with documented method.General fluency or long-term retention.
Partnership model

Begin with review and a bounded pilot—not a logo.

  • 1
    Scoping conversation

Confirm the public need, audience, responsible source and whether Nihoner is a suitable contributor.

  • 2
    Written project note

Record roles, content ownership, use of names or marks, data handling and how either party can end the pilot.

  • 3
    Limited public pilot

Publish the smallest useful version, collect proportionate evidence and keep an accessible correction route.

  • 4
    Joint review

Decide whether to improve, continue, transfer or close the project without implying endorsement beyond the agreement.

Propose one useful public outcome.

Describe the people who would benefit, the task they need to complete, the official information owner and the smallest responsible pilot. Nihoner will not add an organization’s name or logo without written permission.
